July 28, 2009 Dear Charles...

Last week was your 1 month birthday! We took our first road trip to visit Daddy in Houston. We stayed with your cousin Camille. Though you visited many cities while in mama's belly (Denver, Minneapolis, Maui, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Jose) we will consider Houston your first trip out of town. You spent time sleeping slept in Camille's crib and your bassinet. Grandma Phillis saw you looking in Camille's mirror in her crib. You are keeping your eyes open a lot more this week starting to look around at things. You managed to sleep the whole car ride out while mommy listened to an audio book. On the way home we listened to 2 albums that Mommy has listened to a lot over he last few years Death Cab for Cutie's Transatlanticism and American Analog Set Promise of Love. Both are sweet mellow albums that a sweet newborn should appreciate. You did start to cry as we got close to home but luckily we made it without having to pull over to feed you. It was really hard gathering your stuff and coordinating the drive to and from but it was nice to have the extra time with Daddy and the help of your Grandma and Aunt. Your Aunt gave you a bath and also put both you and Camille on her lap and read to you Green Eggs and Ham.
